The Authority of Fatblogging 2.0

PreviewScreenSnapz003.jpg

Did you notice the invasion of horrible diet 1996 style advertising campaigns on most leading tech blogs?

I was so influenced by their authority that I had to start a diet myself under heavy pressure. I am so desperate I even started moblogging what I eat at lunch and dinner.

Recession has no effect on this type of advertising. We will always take weight in December and try to get rid of it in January, that is recession proof! In any case this “Flat Stomach” brand must have the wrong message to run such an idiotic advertising message. Fortunately some A-lister friends just do not give a shit.

“1 Flat Stomach Rule: Obey”

“Gain flat stomach fast!”

“fat-off 2009: 10 tools for losing weight or staying in shape”

…because we are not idiots like the coach potatoes watching home shopping TV ads. Or maybe we all are and the advertisers know it. If they put their money on these blogs, they must have good results.

President Nicolas Sarkozy finally organized his house warming party tonight at the Elysée Palace. I know, I know, but I could not help but post this picture. I am hopeless.

Les cons, ça ose tout. C’est même à ça qu’on les reconnaît“. (quick and dirty translation: “fuckers dare anything. It’s even how we can recognize them” I’m not sure about the translation for “cons” tough… Anyway this is as you understood some of the best known bloggers in France, portrayed by one of the best known photographer in France. I was traveling so they found this idea for my presence… Thanks Darkplaneur !

Journalists replaced by Robots at Thomson Financial

Never journalists thought that they would be outsourced and replaced by Indians, now they are also replaced by robots: Thomson Financial, a financial news company, has just acquired a robot reporter that “can crunch market data in financial reports and file a wire copy round-up with real English sentences within 0.3 seconds of a business releasing the information”. Thomson says it is so happy that it is now widening the scheme’s use.

Who told me ? A robot, Google News. And also the Financial Times with real journalists.

Lucy Gao is the coolest intern in the London City

Fotolia 389858Forwarded by a french reader of my blog who works in the London City (thanks, Alex), I have to share with you the story of the most stupid birthday party email invite. The email is doing the rounds of City banks with good comments as you can imagine (which makes it even funnier with all the banks disclaimers at the end).

To ensure everybody sees Lucy the princess in a proper way she instructed her friends to arrive in groups every 15 minutes and with a strict rule of who should arrive when, example: ARRIVAL TIMES: [Please stick to these as best as you can, thank you] 9:00pm: Lucy, Sophie Sandner, Kajai, Mandeep, Preet, Sanami, Su, Lisa, Kate.

And a strict code has to be observed upon arrival: “When asked, how can I help you Sir/Madam, you reply, I am here for Lucy’s birthday party at the Rivoli Bar.” Dress smart — “the more upper-class you dress, the less likely you shall be denied entry”.

Any queries should be sent to her PA ! it already made it to the Times, and below the entire email for your pleasure. photo © Douglas Freer – FOTOLIA
