Bing, you are live, congratulations, and I watched Steve Ballmer launch it in front of me at the D conference. Steve explained they curated the web so that the most relevant comes first, with algorithms and human intervention. Nothing like the Google page rank based on page popularity, but what is *really* relevant I heard. Well that sounds cool but could you then not show a blank page when someone searches “loic”? I know this is egocentric but many people will also just try just a search on their names and if they blog or tweet or facebook and are the most active they will probably expect their page to show up on top of…. blank pages who just got a domain name.

returns as a first result the owner of loic.com, an empty page:

I am not sure this is the most relevant result (although I would love to own that domain name).

Fun: try searching Google in Bing, you have only ONE result and can search Google from bing.

Now try sex in bing, deactivate safe search and go to video. You are now on a porn site without leaving bing. Amazing. No I won’t link or publish a screenshot, you have to try for yourselves!
Oh and yes Sean, searching first your ego then sex is totally what most people will do to test how relevant is bing, right?

Oh and if you search Madonna you get videos you can play straight from Bing

Okay that autoplay feature of bing is awesome. Seriously bing brings a different experience to video search by playing them right there.
Ah now bing answers me on Twitter, THAT is something

Now guess who is the happiest company tonight? Bling.com that search engine just got some value increase into its domain name!

Realtime search? Bing would make a huge difference if it started to provide real time results from Twitter and soon Facebook public updates.
