Klaus Schwab, founder, World Economic Forum

The next World Economic Forum Annual Meeting will take place in Davos at the end of the month. I am honored to participate this year again for the fifth year (at the beginning as a Young Global Leader and this year again as a blogger). Klaus Schwab, the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum has given me a few minutes of his precious time to guide us through the Forum headquarters in Geneva and introduce this year’s theme.

Video file also available as an M4V (itunes) download.
All my posts and podcasts about and from Davos.

    1) Thank you Loic for this great interview and your global wellknown commitment about citizen issues over “blogosphere”. Your exposure and your competencies provide us, through vlogging, good means to approach top executive leaders.
    2) Once we have said that, I set forward one question : does the WEF belong to the era2.0 ? Gathering the reprensentants of the traditionnal forms of autorithy to discuss and decide… is-it enough ? Wouldn’t we have those days other paths of creativity ? of legitimity ?
    3) One other question then : what about the baseline of the WEF “commited to improving the state of the world” ? Don’t we a have a contradiction : “improving” which is a processus of challenge, of question, of experimentation… and “state” which preferes stability, inertia ? In comparison, what about the baseline of the World Social Forum : “another world is possible”(and better, cause focus on human beings) ?
    4) Thus, my point is that, maybe, with a web2.0 deep perspective, the WSF would be a very good opportunity to solve big real issues (i mean : i’m quite shoked, even if i deeeply respect him, when Klaus says to be personnaly concerned by the warm effect cause it could endanger the skiing season… come on! what about Tsunami Season ???). The WSF gathers the worldwide civil society in order to think about and build smarter ways to develop the world, for and by Us !
    5) Loic, would you be in Nairobi next week, for the 7th WSF ? Other Web2.0 evangelists ?
PS : We will ! See you there, and rock a better world !
